All Mothers Work Book
Millions of women woke up this morning and went to work, paid and unpaid. Many of these women were forced to leave babies and young children in care arrangements that are inadequate. Mothers are experiencing chronic stress and isolation. This isn’t what liberation looks like.
A world where care and reproductive labour is supported is within our reach but it requires brave new exploration of market mechanisms, government policies and cultural attitudes that can truly support the critical role of mothers. For too long women and our contributions have been treated as a problem to be solved. The real problem is the failure to assign value to our work.
